![]() CandorThe value that I hold above all others is candor. I define candor as being open with everyone around me about my thoughts regarding their actions and their opinions, good and bad. At times, this can come across as bluntness, but I believe this type of communication is central to cultivating healthy relationships, romantically, cordially, and professionally. | ![]() HonorHonor as a value became central to me during my time in college. This value complements candor because it includes admitting things that you may not be proud of, and sharing those situations with those you are closest with. | ![]() LoveLove is a value that I try to practice every day of my life. This value was in my top five over relationships because I believe that all my relationships revolve around this idea of love. Like honor and candor, love connects all of my values because I believe that if I cannot be candid with someone, or deal with the consequences of a wrongdoing, then I cannot love them fully. | ![]() PerseverancePerseverance is a value that has been central to my college and graduate school experience. I practice perseverance by pushing through difficult tasks at school and work, and through difficult conversations in my personal life. |

![]() ImaginationI try to practice imagination every day. Imagination was important to me as a child and I feel that as I have gotten older, I have let the creative side of me slip away. Imagination for me takes the place of education and learning. | ![]() RelationshipsRelationships were central to my return to student affairs and have guided my work throughout the past two years. In my job as a supply chain analyst, I worked alone in a cubicle generating spreadsheets for upper management. Today I work alongside phenomenal undergraduate and graduate students, and professionals. These individuals are what make it worth it for me to wake up and come to work every day. | ![]() CollaborationCollaboration is a value that has been core to my work in the Division of Student Affairs. Through this collaborative experience I have had in the Division, I have realized that all programs and offices are made better through collaboration. | ![]() TransparencyMy experience in the Division of Student Affairs has also helped me to realize the importance of transparency in the work that I do. Transparency means knowing what and when I must complete certain tasks. |
![]() OrganizationOrganization is paramount to me being successful at work. This means to me that I am able to have clear expectations about my job as well as developing a system of organization that makes it clear I have a purpose. | ![]() ResourcefulnessResourcefulness is one of the values that I appreciate both inside and outside of my professional life. Beginning with one of my first jobs, my supervisor taught me to look for the answer to a question three times before asking a supervisor. I have lived this value in my life ever since that lesson, always looking for the answer before bothering somebody else. |
